Club InterContinental

Venue
The Club InterContinental is one of Sydney’s most prominent venues. Located on the 32nd floor of the InterContinental Sydney, it adds a new level of elegance to an already established 1851 heritage listed building. Exclusively for celebrities, dignitaries and VIP guests, the Club Lounge is surrounded entirely by glass doors and offers its members panoramic views of Sydney’s Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
Challenge
The challenge was to provide a dynamic and versatile background music system which could also provide sound pressure levels consistent with that of a foreground application.
For full-range sound coverage inside the lounge and outside on the deck, Bose® had to ensure that the audio was delivered into the space cleanly and efficiently, as well as fitting in with the décor in an elegant fashion. This was especially important to ensure the panoramic views of Sydney Harbour and the surrounding area were not compromised in any way.
Solution
Internally, this was achieved through the specification of the Panaray® MA12 Modular Line Array loudspeakers – a high-performance, full-range, line array for reproducing voice and music in venues where clarity, intelligibility and elegance are essential – and externally through environmental loudspeakers. In each case the loudspeaker needed to blend seamlessly into its environment. The system also included a number of floor mounted audio inputs which visiting entertainers could easily connect to.
Result
With the unobtrusive integration of two Panaray® MB4 Modular Bass loudspeakers into the ceiling bulkhead and the virtually invisible installation of the Panaray MA12 Modular Line Array loudspeakers and 151®SE Environmental loudspeakers on the outside patio, Bose® ensured a premium sound system that was easy-to-operate and ensured all client criteria were met in full.
