Case Study - Altitude
Dedicated to the snowboarding enthusiast
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Venue
Altitude is located in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD. The three-level snowboarding superstore boasts one of the largest ranges of snowboarding equipment in the country. Dedicated to the snowboarding enthusiast, Altitude blends pumping sounds and exciting DVD’s within their retail environment to evoke an atmosphere of adrenaline-based action.
Challenge
There were many challenges faced with this project. Firstly, the audio coverage needed to be clear and even throughout the store. The system needed to be user-friendly for staff to operate and blend in with the store’s contemporary décor. The system was also required to be flexible as though its main use is for background music, it would also be used occasionally for live events or DJ’s. Clear and evenly dispersed sound was required for both applications. Overall, the system needed to provide an upbeat atmosphere for the store.
Solution
JVG chose the Panaray® 302™A loudspeaker. The two-way design uses a proprietary Articulated Array® design to reproduce audio over a wide listening area with fewer speakers providing the coverage. A patented Acoustimass® multi-chamber bass enclosure inside each cabinet delivers full, deep bass without audible distortion. Additional bass is supplied by two Panaray MB4 Modular Bass loudspeakers when volumes are required to be higher. The system is controlled by a Cloud mixing and amplification system with zone volumes adjusted by wall mounted controllers.
Result
The unique design of the Panaray® 302™. A loudspeaker tied in well aesthetically and maintained sound clarity, even dispersion and provided appropriate volume/power for live events. Input connection points in the wall make for easy access and setup for performing DJ’s.
