You can connect the headset to most smartphones with the 3.5 mm stereo plug (compatible with standard headphone jacks) or by using the additional 3.5 mm adapter (included with headsets purchased after May 24, 2012) if needed.
The correct connection will:
Deliver stereo sound during music playback and communications
Allow the person on the other end of a phone call to hear your voice
Enable proper operation of the answer/end button
Your Bose® headset works with most Android™, Blackberry® and Windows® smartphones without any adapters.
Insert the headset audio plug into the headphone/headset jack on the phone

Put on the headset
If you purchased your Bose headset after May 24, 2012, a 3.5 mm adapter was included. You may need to use this adapter if your phone does not respond when you press the Answer/End button, if you are getting partial or no sound, or if the microphone is not picking up sound.
Attach the adapter to the headset cable and plug the headset with the adapter into the headphone/headset jack on the phone

Put on the headset
If you purchased your Bose headset before May 24, 2012, it included two unique 2.5 mm adapters, each identified by a small symbol (circle or triangle) on the top of the plug. You will need to use one of these adapters if your phone has a 2.5mm headphones/headset jack.
Select the appropriate adapter. Refer to www.Bose.com/phones to determine which adapter is compatible with your phone.
Attach the adapter to the headset audio cable
With the adapter connected to the headset cable, insert the adapter audio plug into the headphone/headset jack on the phone

Put on the headset
Note: If your phone does not respond when you press the answer/end button, if you are getting partial or no sound, or if the microphone is not picking up sound, you may be using the wrong adapter. Try the other adapter and check again.
