Quick start setup

Follow these diagrams for the initial setup of your Lifestyle® V30, V20 or V10 system:

  1. Place your speakers

  2. Connect the speaker wires to the Acoustimass® module

  3. Connect the speaker wires to your speakers. The connection will vary as shown, depending on whether you have a V30, V20 or V10 system

  4. Connect the Acoustimass module and the display panel to the media console

  5. Next, you'll need to select the types of video connections (HDMI®, component, S-video or composite) to make between your V-class system's media console and your TV, and between the media console and your other home theater devices, such as your DVD player and cable or satellite box.   6. Next select the type of audio connections to make between your V-class system's media console and each of your home theater devices, such as your DVD player and cable or satellite box. For help in determining which types of audio connections to make, see Connecting an audio/video device

  7. Connect the power supply cords and insert batteries into the remote control

  8. Plug the media console and Acoustimass power supply cords into an electrical outlet

Choosing your display language

The first time you power up your V-class system, the Display Language menu appears.

To select a display language, press the numeric key on the remote control that corresponds with your language preference. These are in numerical order as follows: English, Español, Deutsch, Français, Italiano, Nederlands, Dansk or Svenska.

You can change the display language at any time by pressing the System button on the remote. Press the right arrow to scroll to the Media Center icon, then using the down arrow, select "Display Language."

Using the Setup menu

After powering up your system and selecting the display language, the Setup menu appears. You can also select it at any time by pressing the System button on the remote and pressing the right arrow to scroll to the Setup icon. The Setup menu lets you run the ADAPTiQ audio calibration system and program your remote to control your connected components.

Using the Setup and Demonstrations DVD

The Setup and Demonstrations DVD is a valuable resource for setup information and content that demonstrates the capability of your V-class system. We encourage you to view the DVD immediately after you connect your DVD player using the diagrams above. The setup DVD:

  1. Provides instructions for optimizing speaker placement

  2. Explains the importance of running the ADAPTiQ® audio calibration system

  3. Demonstrates the capabilities of your Lifestyle® V-class system

To play the Setup and Demonstrations DVD, follow these steps:

  1. Exit the System menu by pressing Exit on the Lifestyle® V-class system remote

  2. Select the DVD player source by pressing DVD on the Lifestyle® V-class system remote

  3. Turn your DVD player on and insert the Setup and Demonstrations DVD

The Setup and Demonstrations DVD should begin playing. If it does not, press Play on the DVD remote control. Be sure the TV is on and that the correct TV input (the one connecting your V-class system and TV) is selected.
